5:00 AM | Sunday, December 14, 2025: A powerful cold front is moving through the area today, bringing scattered rain showers this morning before clearing out later in the day. While rainfall will be brief, the real impact will be the sharp drop in temperatures and increasing winds behind the front.
- Today: Temperatures will peak early this morning in the upper 50s to low 60s before falling steadily through the afternoon. By later today, temperatures will drop into the low to mid-40s, with wind chills making it feel much colder.
- Tonight into Monday Morning: Temperatures will plunge into the teens and low 20s, with wind chills in the single digits. This will be the coldest period of the event.
- Monday Afternoon: Sunshine returns, but temperatures will only climb into the mid to upper 30s. Wind will continue to make it feel colder throughout the day.
- Looking Ahead: The good news is this Arctic blast will be short-lived. Temperatures are expected to rebound to more seasonal levels on Wednesday.

12 PM | Friday, December 12, 2025:
Greetings from the Lakewood Camping Resort Utilities Department,
We are preparing for an upcoming period of freezing weather expected from December 14–16, 2025, with the potential to extend into December 17. Wind chill temperatures are forecasted to reach single digits during this time.
We strongly encourage all annual lease customers to take preventative measures as soon as possible, including turning off the water supply to any unoccupied units. Occupied residential units should allow faucets and fixtures to run at a slight trickle throughout the freeze to help prevent pipe damage. Campsite customers should be aware that water service interruptions may occur despite our efforts to maintain service, as extreme temperatures may cause conditions beyond our control.
Due to the extensive preparations underway, we will make every effort to assist customers with shutting off individual unit service upon request. However, our primary responsibility is maintaining the integrity of the overall water system, and we may not be able to accommodate every request. Any lease or campsite unit experiencing a water line failure caused by freezing will have its meter valve shut off by a maintenance employee.
