Exciting improvements are underway at Lakewood Camping Resort!

Our 18-hole Putt-Putt course is currently being rebuilt from the ground up as part of a full renovation focused on smoother play, updated landscaping, and expanded accessibility. This project represents one of several ongoing investments across our 200+ oceanfront acres.

If construction stays on schedule, our proposed reopening date is March 15, 2026.

Rebuilding the Course from the Ground Up

This renovation began by clearing the existing course to allow for a stronger foundation and long-term durability. Every surface has been rebuilt to improve consistency from hole to hole while creating better overall flow throughout the layout.

Each of the 18 holes has been thoughtfully redesigned to enhance playability, improve drainage, and ensure the course remains a staple Lakewood amenity for years to come.

Expanding Accessibility

Accessibility has been a central focus throughout the redesign process. The updated layout includes 10 wheelchair-accessible holes along with smoother pathways and improved navigation between playing areas.

These improvements were built into the construction plans from the beginning, ensuring more families can comfortably participate together.

A Myrtle Beach Tradition at Lakewood

Mini golf has long been part of the Myrtle Beach vacation experience, and for many Lakewood families, the Putt-Putt course has become part of their annual tradition.

Keeping a fully renovated course on property allows guests to enjoy this classic coastal activity without leaving the resort, making it even easier to spend more time together.

Proposed Ribbon Cutting – March 15, 2026

If construction remains on schedule, we plan to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for registered guests on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Longtime Lakewood resident Audia Gillam is expected to cast the honorary first putt to mark the reopening. Following the ceremony, the course will officially open for play.
